Go Canada Go

February 14th, 2010

The drought for Canada is finally over, as the country finally won a gold medal while hosting the Olympics. Apparently, we never stood at the middle of the podium once when we hosted the games in Montreal or in Calgary. So…yay!

There are a lot of festivities in the downtown core, and it’s fun to see all those people walking about showing a lot of National Pride. Everywhere I turn, people are wearing colors to represent their own country. It’s just not just Canadianism as much as it’s a great display of patriotism over all. Needless to say, it was wonderful to see and be a part of.

I brought out the camera today, the first time I’ve done so since shooting the SCENE commercials. I really wanted to capture the Olympic spirit in Vancouver, and what better way to do that than to actually film reactions and events. Unfortunately, I ran out of juice at about 49 minutes in, so I am going to be heading back downtown sometime this week and shoot a few more times. At the end of it all, I would like to be able to produce a short 10 minute documentary. At this point, I am not entirely sure what it’s going to be about yet, as it’s all really going to be dependent of the footages that I get.
