Meet Chewy (named after Chewbacca from Star Wars of course)
Posting has become such a foreign concept since I started working. Nevertheless, it does feel really good to be putting an article up once again. First thing first, just to keep some people up to date, I am indeed still working on a script, only I’ve put the comedy I was writing on the backburners, and I am currently working on a shorter film instead. I felt I should just get something down on paper, and experienced the process of a shoot before working on something longer and more time consuming.
The current project I am working on is called Verney, titled after Lionel Verney, better known as “The Last Man” from Mary Shelley. Something of a sci-fi short fiction is all I am going to reveal for now, as I am not 100% sure of my ideas yet, and things can change very dramatically, and very suddenly. I am aiming to have the script completed, storyboarded, and prepped to shoot by 09-09-09. Aside from the very cool calendar date, I also chose it because 1) It’s a Friday, so I can get home* from work, chill out for a bit, and move on to do a bit of shooting, starting the process nice and slow. 2) It will provide me with a very decent amount of time so that I will not be rushing the writing and planning process.
*While on the topic of home, I am also so glad to be finally moving into a little basement suite with my buddy Ken as my neighbor. And of course, the place will also have a littler corner as my “studio”. For some reason, I just feel that moving out of the house is really going to get this whole project rolling along. Only time will tell how right or wrong I am about that.
Last but not least, here is another reason why I’ve been away from the computer so much. Her name is Chewy, named after Chewbacca from George Lucas’ Star Wars. The similarity of their golden fur aside, they are also both ferocious in the most adorable and lovable way. I shot this video of her on my phone, and she loved every minute of it. She clearly has a natural talent for camera time.
