BLOOD, DECAPITATION…IT’S THE WAY OF THE SAMURAI
It’s very hard to imagine living without something until you actually lose it. Cooking last night, I didn’t lose my thumb, but due to the injury sustained, I’ve lost its function for the next couple of days. Seeing that it’s my left thumb, I didn’t really think I would miss it all that much. Yet, just through the morning alone, I already noticed all the convenience that a good left thumb could bring. Such tasks’ level of difficulties have increased dramatically:
- Washing my hair
- Applying hair product
- Snapping loose the clips on pant hangers
- Buttoning up a dress shirt, the neck button in particular
- Fastening the waist button on my jeans
- Utilizing the left analog stick on my PS3 controller
- Cracking open an egg into the frying pan
- Washing dishes
Thank goodness that I hit the space bar on my laptop with my right thumb, otherwise, that is another cumbersome task I must endure. I can only imagine the digital acrobats I must perform later while preparing dinner.
It is my plan to rip out the carpets in my room and putting in place a few pieces of snap and lock hardwood panels. Though that sounds fairly conceivable even with my non existent level of carpentry skills, I still doubt I can do a very good job.
The Afro Samurai game for the PS3 plays a lot like God of War, which is probably the reason I like it so much. Swarms of assassins aiming to remove the Number 2 Headband from your head, it is up to you to button mash and combo your way out of danger. Since I’ve only played the demo, I do not know what the boss fights are like. It seems they have stayed true to the movie, even hiring Jackson, Pearlman, and Kelly Hu for the voices of the characters, and included the storyline that came with the anime movie. Blood, decapitation, and massive amounts of gore, it’s definitely the way of the Afro Samurai.
