ASSASSINATE ME…PLEASE
The road of life is clearly not a smooth one. To go with the bumps, some jackass decided to dig a couple of potholes as well, not to mention plant a couple of trees smack in the middle along the way. My current occupation is hazardous, boring, and repetitive. Not to mention I am required to give my undivided attention. While that might seem like a prerequisite for virtually every position in the world, it is not the case. My previous job as a communications officer required a bit of creativity, and therefore allowed me to occasionally drift into my dream world in search for inspiration or an imaginative outburst. Even as a retail agent, I was able to stare off into space, thinking about a joke to crack that will break the ice with a customer. I am not going to leak out what it is that I am currently doing, but I am in a giant fucking freezer…all day.
Aside from the job being horrible itself, it also leaves me in a sour mood for the rest of the day. Upon entering my home, my first thought is to lie down and do nothing. Watching a movie is not on the checklist, and neither is reading or turning on the gaming console. When the core of this blog is based upon those three cores, you can see where the trouble begins.
I played and finished Assassins Creed a while ago, as in more than a year. For some reason, I never thought to talk about it. It is really a wonderful game, though the story of it all is a little weak. You start off as a man in a laboratory. There is a machine, which through DNA mapping, will trace your entire bloodline while projecting memories from your forefathers. Someone in your family, as it turns out, belonged to a creed of assassins (hence the name), that had determined the course of history though their actions and their targets. You basically play the entire game as the memory, an assassin in ancient cities, taking out your targets one by one.
Before you kill each target, you must collect information on them, and this is where the game gets interesting. As an assassin, you have certain skills including pickpocketing, eavesdropping, or torturing informants until they reveal secrets to you. Each method requires you to be patient and discreet, or your “snitch” will be alerted of your presence, and conceal what they know from you. There are also people in distress, who you can choose to save, and in return, they will help you when you need to get away from the guards. Killing your final target is equivalent to the boss fight of every level. Some are a lot easier to kill than others, and you do not necessarily encouter them in any specific order according to their level of difficulty. However, killing each one is very rewarding, as they each reveal to you piece by piece the entire story behind the Creed.
Well, congrats on the job. And good luck learning to deal with it and make it interesting.
