VROOM VROOM…
Finding a job is a great thing, but working a job that is 47km (28.2 miles) and starting at 5am in the morning is difficult… destroying the One Ring difficult. I only thank whoever watches over me that I am somewhat of a morning person.
I’ve driven very recklessly over the weekend. I rammed down gates that destroyed my candy color paint, over speed bumps that castrated the undercoating of my car, and led police officer on wild chases, ending only when I sped through the very support beam holding up a giant doughnut, thus allowing chaos to ensue. Need for Speed Carbon has fuel my enthusiasm for driving games, and I am most definitely going to give Need for Speed Undercover a try. It’s a newer game, meaning better graphics and more features. Not to mention the addition of Maggie Q. Emmanuelle Vaugier is very good in Carbon, but she never played ping pong dressed like an empirical servant.
The Force Unleashed on the PSP has hit a wall. After a few levels, the large environment coupled with a lack of enemies grew tiresome. I became bored with force jumping around the entire map like Toad, slaying one clone after another. I am more a fan of the God of War style, where I am clawing and grasping for every inch of my life when three headed dogs and the undead army swarm me by the dozen. The little things do amuse me. I dig the idea of creating a custom light saber, or being able to wear any of the outfits employed by a previous jedi from the movie. Yet, multiple minor successes are not enough to trump its major failure in gameplay.
With the job and what will be a little disposable income, I finally purchased the Jaws DVD I’ve been spying for a while. I’ve seen the movie a lot, so I am not looking to be jolted or even startled by any of the scenes. What I am looking forward to is watching the two hour documentary of the making of Jaws with commentary from Speilberg himself. I’ve heard very good things from my kind around the internet. Guess I will update you on how that goes.
