AND ONTO THE SEQUEL!

Because of Fable’s excellent storytelling, an obscure annoyance such as camera angle rarely irritates me. However, when a Summoner is free to hack away at my exposed rear and drain my supply of potions because a giant stone had masked its presence, annoyance is too lightly a word to describe the rage. I was also slightly irritated when I wasn’t given a chance to finish my side quests after completing the final stage. I had purposely left them aside to revisit when peace had been restored in my beloved Albion. But like a disgruntled waitress, she snatched my plate with my side dishes intact.

Nevertheless, the game-play is solid. My left mouse button will never be the same, nor my keyboards buttons defined for health potion and mana. Yet, despite it’s button mashing combat system, the timing to block and parry is a part of the game. There is a bit of puzzle solving and an intriguing character upgrade system that allows for a lot of customization. Though the options for the weapons and armors were a bit lacking, its designs and appearances were enough to make me overlook that dereliction.

With my adventures in Albion over and done with, it’s time to get back to rescuing Zelda once more.  With the DS Lite on and the game loaded, it dawns on me that the mission status had not been retained in my personal memory.  After searching through the menu and logs, my goal for the stage was still unclear.  My guess is this is a situation where FAQs will be used even by the most honorable of gamers.
