Well, first of all, thanks for the mention. And I am glad that you know all about SEO now.

As for your job choice, that is always the struggle. Do what we love (can we find it, will it pay high enough) OR take the obvious ‘cushy position’ that we might not be too excited about. Good luck.

I’ve been working on this challenge for a long time and have many suggestions to share. The highest priorities for any blog are adding the ability for your readers to subscribe and comment. I used a link to a post that covers the optimum plugins for that in the link to this comment.

Don’t forget to use Akismet so when your blog gets more popular with commentators and/or listed better in the search engines you won’t go crazy dealing with SPAM.

Another high priority is to add All-in-one-SEO to optimize your blog for the search engines – and then take the time to actually fill in the extra information on every post.

If you’re really going to be serious you may want to consider going to an upgraded and supported theme before you start adding plugins. I can offer links to reviews of a couple of the most admired if you’re interested.
