BIRTHDAYS ARE DEPRESSING
Wireless computer peripherals are less cumbersome than it’s USB cabled counterparts, but its connectivity issues might often render fatal consequences. Such is the case when losing connection in midst of dodging a swinging iron broadsword from a 300 pound guard, or battling a metal hide wasp 4 lengths of a rowboat. Frustrations settles in when death becomes a common occurrence during the span of a 30 minute gaming session. Keyboards deploy into mid-flight and mice turn into spare parts. Plastic pieces and batteries litter my carpeted floors. My affair with the PC is not a smooth one. Perhaps it’s time to show fidelity towards my consoles.
I relapsed into my Asian Cinema enslavement. There is something about their camera angles and simplistic special effects. Crow Zero, directed by Takashi Miike, is what Street Fighter: The Movie should have been, and what I hope for Dragonball: Evolution to be. Images from his use of freeze frames communicated the impact of punches and kicks. The action was not just seen or heard, I felt them. Costume and makeup/stylist were on spot with the theme of the movie. Every actor resembled the characters from the comic in which they were derived, yet not so that they seemed out of place in the real world.
Job searches are tough in this dwindling economy. I am frantically crawling to get myself out of this unemployed pit, but like a victim trapped in a grave ten feet deep, my efforts lead me nowhere, no matter how hard I try. It’s not boredom at home which drives me. It is not exaggeration when I tell you I am content waking up each morning, reading, gaming, writing, and watching a movie. Should the Heavens ever be kind enough to grant me such a life to the end of days, I would kneel on the pews every Sunday until my knees are raw and bleeding. No, it is the recent birthday of a friend that allowed the realization of impeding old age to sucker punch me into this depression. The culmination of my life is near, and this is a time where my savings should be increasing substantially, instead of daily dwindlement.
One person’s “unemployed” is another person’s joyful decision. Consider looking at this all another way. Instead of enslaving yourself with another J.O.B. (Just Over Broke) share what you know how to do at http://friendfeed.com/rooms/whodoeswhat so others can send you cash instantly for specific tasks.
If you don’t think you have any saleable skills I bet I can discover some. Contact me at Twitter or FriendFeed and I’ll be happy to show you the way to owning your own time and income. I walked away from a “career” in 2000 and have never regretted it for a second. I’d be happy to share how and help you market your skills.
Happy Birthday to your friend and Happy Freedom to you!
Dont forget there is light at the end of the tunnel in all of this. Things will improve for you – I promise
Happy birthday to your friend!
lol. You seem to be having a rather enjoyable period of unemployment. Relaxing in front of your WIDE screen, writing scintillating blog posts, and playing games…
But I definitely know how it is to be unemployed or underemployed and watch a quickly declining balance in your bank account. It is only when you don’t have a job that you realize how much it costs to live.
Good luck.
